The RE:PORT conference, held on July 26, 2012 at Norfolk Waterside Marriott, was a success.  It was great to hear comments from industrial professionals related to the Port and future manufacturing/warehouse needs.  The Panama Canal expansion will benefit the Region, although the scope of that benefit is undefined at this time.  The round table format allowed for informal and very informative comments by Ace Hardware, Stihl and Walmart logistics directors.  Each chose the Hampton Roads Region for their companies’ expansions based on the strengths of the Port and with an eye toward the future.
