Goodwill Joins with Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer for a Professional Clothing Drive
Richmond, VA – Goodwill and Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer are partnering for their inaugural professional clothing drive. For more than 90 years, Goodwill has helped people in Central Virginia get the job training, support, and opportunities they need to be successful in the workplace. For over 100 years, Thalhimer has been a prominent business leader in Central Virginia and believes strongly in giving back to the community. Partnering with Goodwill is a natural fit to provide professional clothing for those that need a hand-up in re-entering the workforce or preparing for interviews. Both Goodwill and Thalhimer know firsthand the benefits to our economy of helping local job seekers prepare for permanent employment.
The program, called SUIT UP, entails collecting gently-used business clothing for the next five weeks at Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer’s corporate headquarters at 11100 West Broad Street in Short Pump. An external dropbox is on location and the community is encouraged to make donations.
Thalhimer plans to expand the partnership with Goodwill throughout the year, to include things like mentorship, interview preparation and resume writing. Associates from both firms will work with people to develop their employment skills and train them to work successfully in a variety of industries outside of Goodwill.
“Goodwill appreciates Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer’s commitment to our mission. Their efforts now to make career clothing accessible to our clients in conjunction with their interest in providing mentoring to them will only increase the success of our Goodwill programs,” said Charles D. Layman, Goodwill’s President and CEO.
