RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer launched its 2019 Summer Internship Program in June, offering learning experiences for collegiate students in the areas of commercial real estate brokerage, commercial and residential property management, and investment/development. The company’s eight-week paid intern program allowed students to develop real-world work skills and nurture career opportunities in the commercial real estate industry. The robust program paired the interns with seasoned professionals, under the guidance of business line leaders, who directed their activities for the duration of the program. They gained exposure not only to Thalhimer’s company culture, but also developed knowledge and experience to succeed in the real estate industry.

A total of eight interns participated in the internship program, with juniors and seniors from Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Clemson University, and Elon University. The program was initiated in Thalhimer’s corporate office, with an orientation program that included overviews of the company’s various service lines, a tour of the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Chester, a tour of The Martin Agency in Richmond’s Central Business District, and tours throughout Innsbrook Corporate Center, as well as multiple networking events with Thalhimer associates. The remainder of the program was devoted to project assignments in specific commercial real estate disciplines in several Virginia markets.

The conclusion of Thalhimer’s Summer Internship Program included assistance with resume writing, interviewing workshops, and individual performance assessments to assist with their future success in the business world.
