HAMPTON ROADS, VIRGINIA: The Virginia Beach office raised $250 for the Salvation Army during the 4th quarter of 2022 with monthly jeans day collections.  Including the company match, they were able to present a check to them for $500. They also volunteered at the Salvation Army Christmas Depot on December 13th, where registered families picked up the gifts that were sorted and bagged for their children.
The Newport News office volunteered at the Salvation Army Potomac Division on December 19th  and assisted registered families in picking up the gifts for their children. They also helped stock the pantry shelves with food items that were recently donated or bought with donated funds.

ABOUT THALHIMER GIVES
Founded in 2018, Thalhimer Gives is a company-wide initiative focused on community involvement and charitable giving in the markets we serve. Through Thalhimer Gives, our associates actively engage in the community by donating financially, providing much-needed supplies, and giving generously of their time, with paid time off, to local non-profit organizations. 

Organizations are nominated each year by Thalhimer associates who are actively involved with a non-profit or passionate about the organization. Selection criteria include the organizations’ status as a registered 501(c)(3), their impact on the communities in which we serve, the nominating associates’ commitment to be actively involved, and the opportunities available for Thalhimer to donate financially, volunteer our time through multiple events, and provide supplies. The selection committee also focuses on selecting a diverse group of organizations. There are four charities selected each year, with one highlighted each fiscal quarter. The first week of each new quarter an informal kick-off presentation is held for associates to learn more about the charity and volunteer opportunities for the quarter. As part of the program, associates donate $5 each Friday in exchange for wearing jeans, called “Jean Fridays.” At the end of the quarter, Thalhimer matches this amount and donates the funds to the charity of that quarter. 
In 2021, Thalhimer Gives donated $41,453, collected thousands of supplies, and associates volunteered 490 hours to local charities. This year, 2022, we are celebrating our 5th anniversary of Thalhimer Gives.
