Thalhimer Gives Partners with Children’s Hospital Foundation in First Quarter 2025
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: April 17, 2025 – Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer partnered with Children’s Hospital Foundation to support children and families at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025 through their Thalhimer Gives program, a companywide initiative focused on community involvement and charitable giving. Thalhimer Gives efforts focused on support of CHoR’s Children’s Tower, Richmond’s new home for pediatric inpatient, emergency, and trauma care, opened for patients and families on April 30, 2023. In a single year, more than 80,000 children receive care at CHoR, including 405,000+ outpatient visits and 28,000+ emergency room visits. In 2024, CHoR celebrated 10 years of being ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
Through Thalhimer Gives, associates actively engage in the community by donating financially, providing much-needed supplies, and giving generously of their time to local non-profit organizations.
• Donating financially
– Thalhimer donated $6,680 to the Children’s Hospital Foundation in Q1. Throughout the quarter, Thalhimer’s associates provided $3,340 through various associate donations, and the company matched that amount dollar-for-dollar.
• Giving generously of their time and providing items useful to CHoR
– Richmond associates volunteered at CHoR for three different collection and delivery events:
. Activity Kits Assembly: our Richmond associates sourced more than $1,100 worth of the contents for activity kits for CHoR. A group of associates then volunteered to assemble the kits; ultimately creating 15 kits for inpatient school-age kids at CHoR, 10 for infants, and 10 for parents. An additional group of associates delivered the kits to CHoR and received a tour of their amazing Child Life Zone.
. Stock the Lounges: Richmond associates provided more than $900 of various snack items for CHoR’s family support lounges. A group of associates then volunteered to assemble six baskets, plus an ample supply of extra snacks for CHoR. An additional group of associates delivered the baskets to CHoR and arranged them in the hospital’s three family lounges.
. Book Drive: Richmond associates held a book drive for CHoR, ultimately collecting 170 books. We then delivered the books to CHoR and stocked the bookshelves for the children.
“It is inspiring to see a company rally their team members to share time, energy, and precious resources to help make a difference for families during hospitalizations. From the activity kits for young patients to the snack food and children’s book drives they hosted, these efforts have impacted CHoR patients and families in meaningful ways. Additionally, Thalhimer’s generous philanthropic gift will enable our child life team to continue providing supportive and individualized care for families as they navigate their medical journeys.” said Rachel Bruni, Executive Director, Corporate Partnerships for Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“At Thalhimer, our core values of community involvement and commitment to making a transformative impact are at the heart of everything we do. This quarter was particularly meaningful for us as one of our associates, Alicia Brown, has experienced the incredible care provided by Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) firsthand, while her son is undergoing treatment there. Through our Thalhimer Gives program, we are proud to support CHoR and contribute to the well-being of children and families in our community. Our team’s dedication to this program, both in volunteer time and donations, reflects our unwavering commitment to making a difference. We are honored to partner with CHoR and to support their mission to increase access to exceptional pediatric care and enhance the patient experience.” Lee Warfield, President & CEO of Thalhimer.
