RIC Associates Volunteered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace Building 16 Beds for Children

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: On Friday, August 14th, 33 Richmond associates and family members volunteered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) at Thalhimer Center for our second bed build event of the quarter.

Despite the heat and humidity, volunteers spent the day cutting lumber, sanding, assembling frames, and branding each bed with the SHP logo. By day’s end, the team had completed 16 beds that will soon be delivered to children in the Richmond area who currently do not have a bed of their own.

Together, our two 2026 build events have produced 31 beds, helping SHP fulfill its mission that “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town.” Six of the beds built by our volunteers have already been delivered to local children, providing a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

Thank you to everyone who participated, brought family members, and contributed their time and energy to make a meaningful difference in our community.
