RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: On Thursday, September 17, we were grateful for the opportunity to partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) and help deliver beds to children in need. Thalhimer’s team of 11 volunteers joined SHP volunteers and split into two groups to deliver 14 beds to six families throughout the community.

What made the experience especially meaningful was seeing our efforts come full circle. The beds we delivered were the same ones we built during our July and August “Build Bed Days.” Having the opportunity to assemble them in the children’s homes, dress them with bedding, and witness the excitement and joy on the children’s faces was incredibly rewarding. It was a powerful reminder of the impact that volunteering and teamwork can have on the lives of others.

We are truly honored to have played a part in helping SHP fulfill its mission that “no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”

Founded in 2018, Thalhimer Gives is a companywide initiative dedicated to community involvement and charitable giving in the markets we serve. Guided by our mission of Giving Back Through Action, Compassion, and Care, our associates make a meaningful impact in three primary ways:

Thalhimer Gives is at the heart of our commitment as a corporate citizen to lead the transformation of the communities where we live, work, and play.

Each year, organizations are nominated by Thalhimer associates who are actively involved with a non-profit or passionate about its mission. From these nominations, four charities are selected annually in each of our seven markets, with one featured each fiscal quarter. Associates contribute to these organizations, and at the end of the quarter, Thalhimer matches donations dollar-for-dollar, amplifying the impact for the charity of that quarter.

In 2025, we donated a total of $52,465, collected thousands of supplies, and associates volunteered 788 hours to local charities. To date, Thalhimer Gives has donated more than $395,129 to local charitable organizations, and we remain committed to growing that impact year after year.
