La Taza has decided to close its doors. La Taza, and the adjacent cabinet shop, have occupied the Belmont area of Charlottesville for 13 years. 
Andy McClure, owner of The Virginian Restaurant Company (which includes Citizen Burger Bar), will be taking over both La Taza and the adjacent cabinet shop.  McClure comments, “Our goal is to remain true to the history of this building. Our new concept will remain boutique-like and hyper-local. Downtown Belmont is one of the best neighborhoods around, and the new spaces will offer both old staples like coffee, and delicious new options we think this area could really use. I have loved this building for so long and I couldn’t be more excited.”
MELCP, LLC purchased the Iconic Belmont Properties from Brinnington Properties LLC as an investment.
