Richmond Associates Volunteer with St. Joseph’s Villa for a Garden Refresh

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: Despite the heat being turned way up during this Fall season, Thalhimer’s volunteer day at St. Joseph’s Villa was an incredibly rewarding experience. It was a great opportunity for our associates to get out of the office, give back, and learn more about one of the Richmond organizations making a meaningful impact in our community. The St. Joseph’s Villa team was incredibly welcoming and genuinely excited to have Thalhimer as a Thalhimer Gives partner this year.

Our volunteers spent the day giving the shared therapeutic garden some much-needed TLC, tackling weeds along the fence line, in the raised garden beds, and throughout the walkways and patio areas. The team also rolled up their sleeves to organize the garden shed, helping improve both the beauty and functionality of this important outdoor space.

The garden serves as a valuable resource across The Villa’s programs, providing students with a therapeutic and engaging environment while also producing fresh vegetables used in culinary services and distributed through the Villa Food Pantry. Through a little teamwork, fresh air, and plenty of hard work, our group helped ensure this special space can continue serving students and families for years to come. It was a productive day, a rewarding partnership, and a reminder of the positive impact that can be made when organizations come together to support their communities.

Volunteers: Alex Denisco, Hope Alley, Lisa Harris, Jillian Weekly, Lexi Cumbia, Eric Robison, Birck Turnbull, Kitchel Bunger, Dan Hines, Ann Albrecht, Nora Hoel, Alfreda Hagans, Matthew Wilson, Adam Holbrook
