Thalhimer Experts Present at the 30th Annual Hampton Roads Real Estate Market Review
NORFOLK, VIRGINIA: Nicole Campbell and Geoff Poston recently spoke to approximately 650 attendees at the 30th anniversary of the 2025 Hampton Roads Real Estate Market Review & Forecast held at Old Dominion University in Norfolk on March 11th.
Nicole Campbell focused on the region’s office market and reviewed current trends in space flexibility and experiential design, noting that with sublease vacancy down to 5%, companies have settled into their post-pandemic workplace strategy. She also discussed the impact of AI and the expanding wave of smart buildings, whose predictive analytics will improve property management functions.
On the industrial front, Geoff Poston analyzed the region’s infill and big box market segments, anticipating that fundamentals will normalize in 2025 with a rebound in leasing activity and a decline in overall vacancy. Additional segments covered the state of the retail, multifamily, and residential markets, covering topics from mixed-use conversions of existing shopping centers to the rising construction costs on the development front.
Thalhimer’s research team, Liz Greving and Isabel Waldbauer, attended the event along with brokerage team members from Thalhimer’s Virginia Beach office, including Taylor Anderson, Christine Kaempfe, Ed Kimple, Brett Sain, David Machupa, Erik Conradi, and Janet Whitbeck.
