Thank you Thalhimer Gives!

THALHIMER GIVES | Big Brothers Big Sisters

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA:  Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for the first quarter of 2020 through their Thalhimer Gives program, a company initiative focused on community involvement and charitable giving. Through Thalhimer Gives, associates actively engage in the community by donating financially and giving generously of their time to local non-profit organizations.

• Donating financially
o Thalhimer associates raised $2,333 for Big Brothers Big Sisters through “Friday Jeans” and the company contributed a $1,000 match for a total donation of $3,333. “Friday Jeans” allows Thalhimer associates to wear jeans every Friday by making a $5 donation to the Thalhimer Gives partner organization.

• Giving generously of their time
o Thalhimer partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for three volunteer opportunities, and provided associates paid time off to give back.
 Thalhimer associates participated in National Mentoring Month in January for a recruiting event to hear about BBBS’ one-to-one mentoring relationships. All proceeds from drink and food purchases at the event benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters.
 Thalhimer associates volunteered at the office of Big Brothers Big Sisters and helped them organize their file room, assisted with mailing distributions, and moved office items.
 The Thalhimer team of volunteers assisted and formed a team for BBBS’ annual premier fundraiser, Bowl for Kids’ Sake, at AMF Sunset Lanes on West Broad. Associates volunteered ahead of the event to help set up, as well as joined Team Thalhimer for a fun bowling event to celebrate their fundraising success. Team Thalhimer raised $2,958 (beating their goal of $2,000) for BBBS; and the event itself raised a total of $102,700 (surpassing their goal of $100,000).

“Big Brothers Big Sisters Services Inc. is grateful and honored for the generous support of time and financial resources from Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. Over the last few years, the company and its employees have been actively engaged in our mentoring program, Bowl for Kids’ Sake and administrative support.  Their team is always willing to go the extra mile and help make a difference in the lives of Richmond area youth,” said Danielle Cohen, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters helps fill gaps in childhood development. It’s a very important need at a crucial time in their lives. Thalhimer and our associates were happy to provide financial help and to assist in their annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser, as well as additional volunteer events,” Lee Warfield, President & CEO of Thalhimer.
