Thalhimer Gives Partners with Rebuilding Together Richmond in Second Quarter 2025
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, July 10, 2025 – Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer partnered with Rebuilding Together Richmond during the second quarter (Q2) of 2025 through their Thalhimer Gives program, a companywide initiative focused on community involvement and charitable giving.
Rebuilding Together Richmond’s (RT RVA) mission is to repair homes, revitalize communities, and rebuild lives. This partnership is part of RT RVA’s ongoing volunteer program, which engages corporate and community teams throughout the year, to improve housing conditions and strengthen shared community spaces across the greater Richmond area.
As part of the community initiative, Thalhimer was connected with Williams City Farms, an urban garden learning center at 452 E Ladies Mile Road in Richmond to completely revitalize the property, making exciting improvements to supplement the farm’s functions. Williams City Farms’ mission is to inspire and educate the local community on how to grow a garden, enjoy the process, and grow nutritious produce. Since its inception in 2019, they have grown and donated over 8,715 pounds of produce to food pantries and the local community.
Thalhimer worked extensively with Shana Williams, owner and founder of Williams City Farms, a nonprofit organization, to assess the repairs needed for the farm learning center and to identify resources that could be added to the farm to complement and fortify the farm’s purpose to educate the surrounding community. By using a learn-by-doing approach, individuals, families, school groups, and organizations learn a variety of skills to grow and sustain a garden as well as servicing the community. They are often rewarded with a feeling of accomplishment and the inspiration to start their own garden. Prior to Thalhimer associates volunteering at the Farm starting in April, and continuing into May and June, Thalhimer coordinated with Richmond-area partners ProMac Roofing, Schultz Lawnscapes, Hill Electrical Inc., ColonialWebb, Sign Crafters, Hanover Tree Service, and RVA Contracting who provided services to improve the site, including site preparation, new signage, carpentry and materials delivery. These companies provided in-kind donations totaling approximately $25,000.
Through Thalhimer Gives, associates actively engage in the community by donating financially, providing much-needed supplies, and giving generously of their time to local non-profit organizations.
• Donating financially
– Thalhimer donated $3,914 to Rebuilding Together Richmond in Q2. Throughout the quarter, Thalhimer’s associates provided $1,957 through various associate donations, and the company matched that amount dollar-for-dollar.
• Giving generously of their time and providing items useful to Rebuilding Together Richmond
– Richmond associates volunteered at Williams City Farms for three different revitalization events, logging an astounding 347 hours of volunteer time throughout the quarter.
– Associates also donated more than $875 worth of items requested by Rebuilding Together Richmond, above and beyond the donation check provided by Thalhimer.

“This initiative is a powerful example of what’s possible when missions align with purpose,” says Malcolm Jones, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Richmond. “Williams City Farms is deeply woven into the fabric of the community, and it was an honor to help enhance their space through this partnership with Thalhimer and their generous vendors. It takes vision, commitment, and resources to complete a project of this scale, and we’re truly grateful to everyone who made it happen.”
“Through our Thalhimer Gives partnership with Rebuilding Together Richmond, we had the opportunity to connect with Williams City Farms and its founder, Shana Williams. Williams City Farms is a small urban garden and learning center making a BIG impact on the surrounding community. They needed help refurbishing greenhouses, storage buildings, and planting areas – basically a complete overhaul. This kind of volunteer work is right up our alley. Our associates enthusiastically volunteered their time and, along with help from several of our great vendors, helped to give new life to Williams City Farms. The farm and its founder are passionate about their mission to inspire the neighborhood to grow their own produce, teaching these skills to individuals, families, and school groups with a hands-on approach. The farm also grows and donates produce for local food banks. It was rewarding for our associates to see the tangible results of their work and literally taste the fruits of their labor!” Lee Warfield, President & CEO of Thalhimer.

About Thalhimer Gives
Founded in 2018, Thalhimer Gives is a companywide initiative focused on community involvement and charitable giving in the markets we serve. Through Thalhimer Gives, our associates actively engage in the community by donating financially, providing much-needed supplies, and giving generously of their time, with paid time off, to local non-profit organizations. To-date, Thalhimer Gives has donated more than $301,446 to local charitable organizations.
Organizations are nominated each year by Thalhimer associates who are actively involved with a non-profit or passionate about the organization. Selection criteria include the organizations’ status as a registered 501(c)(3), their impact on the communities in which we serve, and the opportunities available for Thalhimer to donate financially, volunteer our time through multiple events, and provide supplies. The selection committee also focuses on selecting a diverse group of organizations. Four charities are selected each year, with one highlighted each fiscal quarter. As part of the program, associates donate to each organization and at the end of the quarter, Thalhimer matches this amount and donates the funds to the charity.
In 2024, we donated a total of $63,881, collected thousands of supplies, and associates volunteered 614 hours to local charities.
