BAPS Richmond (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) purchased the 50,152 square foot building, situated on 4.92 acres, from Virginia Repertory Theater for $2,750,000 with plans to locate their Hindu temple at the location. The Virginia Repertory Theatre, formerly Richmond Scottish Rite and the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center, is a two-story lodge/meeting hall located directly off of I-95. The building features a 650-seat auditorium, a 400-seat banquet hall, and numerous meeting rooms.
