
Richmond Waldorf School Purchases Former Luther Memorial School
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer is pleased to announce Richmond Waldorf School has purchased the former Luther Memorial School, located at 1301 Robin Hood Road in Richmond’s Northside. Plans are to relocate this summer from their current location at Westover Baptist Church to their new 30,000 square foot location, allowing them to double in size in the coming years. The property was purchased from LMS Lutheran Memorial Foundation, Inc. for $1,850,000. Mark E. Douglas, CCIM, SIOR of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the buyer.
The mission of Richmond Waldorf School is to provide a learning environment that promotes independent thinking, cultivates creativity, builds confidence, and develops practical skills. Richmond Waldorf School:
• The school began its continuous operation in the 1996-97 school year with a single kindergarten class, in a location on Laburnum Avenue.
• Richmond Waldorf School moved to its Westover Hills location in 2003 and graduated its first 8th grade in 2009.
• The school currently has 131 enrolled students from pre-K through 8th grade.
• Financing for the new school location was provided by Virginia Community Capital. Funds to purchase the building were raised by the school from November 2016 – February 2017.
• Richmond Waldorf School will be hosting its May Faire on May 13 at the new facility and will offer its summer programs there, beginning July 10.
