RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer is excited to announce Academy Sports + Outdoors has leased the 58,075-square foot former Toys “R” Us anchor space at The Corner at Short Pump, located in the heart of Short Pump at West Broad Street and Lauderdale Drive in Henrico County, Virginia.

Academy Sports + Outdoors, headquartered out of Katy, TX, is one of the nation’s largest sporting goods and outdoor stores. With 259 stores and counting, they offer a broad assortment of quality hunting, fishing, camping equipment, and gear, sports and leisure products, footwear, apparel, and much more. Over the last several decades, the company has grown substantially from its small beginnings. Sales reached one billion dollars in 2003, two billion dollars in 2007, three billion dollars in 2012, and four billion dollars in 2014. In fiscal 2021, sales exceeded $6.77 billion.

The Corner at Short Pump is a 200,000+ square foot regional shopping center co-anchored by Kroger Marketplace and Bassett furniture. Additional tenants include Olive Garden, Banfield Pet Hospital, Orange Theory Fitness, Sleep Number, and Gelati Celesti. The center currently has 1,320 – 6,524 square feet of shop space available and a pad site that can accommodate up to 6,000 square feet.
