Thalhimer Gives Establishes Meaningful Partnership with From the Heart in Q1

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, April 18, 2023 – Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer partnered with From the Heart (FTH) for the first quarter of 2023 through their Thalhimer Gives program, a company-wide initiative focused on community involvement and charitable giving. Through Thalhimer Gives, associates actively engage in the community by donating financially, providing much-needed supplies, and giving generously of their time to local non-profit organizations.
• Donating financially
o Thalhimer associates raised $5,300 for From the Heart through Friday Jeans donations. Friday Jeans allows Thalhimer associates to wear jeans every Friday and make a monetary donation to the Thalhimer Gives partner organization, along with a company match.

• Giving generously of their time
o Thalhimer partnered with From the Heart for volunteer opportunities and gave associates paid time off to give back.
– Thalhimer associates volunteered on three dates throughout the quarter, learning to make fidget mats and cuffs for memory care patients, create stuffed bunnies and pom poms, make hats for the homeless, and stitch lap blankets. All items will be donated to FTH’s partner organizations, including homeless shelters and care facilities throughout Central VA.
– A team of Thalhimer associates helped FTH at their workshop with several maintenance items. They replaced ceiling light bulbs, cleaned light fixtures, painted the bathroom, cleaned windows, and did many other repairs and cleaning.

• Providing much-needed supplies
o Thalhimer associates donated hundreds of items that From the Heart utilizes to make hand-stitched items, such as yarn, fiber fill, fabric, and delivery supplies such as bags and branded tags for their donation bags, as well as a new outdoor sign.

“From the Heart is overwhelmed with the Thalhimer Gives partnership. This was a three-way, beneficial experience; for our volunteer members, for the participation of associates of Thalhimer, and the many recipients receiving the comfort items created as a result of these generous donations. We sincerely thank all of you, especially Liz Greving, our Thalhimer Gives champion, from our hearts.” Kulla Ficare, President, From the Heart.

“Through our Thalhimer Gives initiative, we have helped dozens of charitable and non-profits in our community. One of our most unique charitable partners has been From the Heart, whom we supported in this year’s first quarter through our Richmond office. From the Heart provides hand-stitched items to people suffering and in need through organizations such as hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice care. Our associates enjoyed working on stitched items, fixing up the FTH office, and donating much-needed supplies. Creating a stitched item from a ball of yarn takes a lot of patience and talent, and it’s indicative of how much this organization cares for those they are helping.” Lee Warfield, President & CEO of Thalhimer.
