The Virginia Home to Move from Long-Time Byrd Park Location

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, January 30, 2025 – Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer is pleased to announce the sale of 75.06 acres of land on Bell Creek Road near Pole Green Road in Hanover County, Virginia for the development of a new location for The Virginia Home.

The Virginia Home purchased the acreage from Big Oak Development Company Shield Hanover Land Trust (The Virginia Group, LLC) for $8,650,000 and plans to develop their new 160-bed facility on this site. The Virginia Home has been located in the Byrd Park area at 1101 Hampton Street since 1930. The Virginia Home is a private, nonprofit that provides compassionate and professional residential care to adult Virginians with physical disabilities.
