RICHMOND, VA:  Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer is pleased to announce yet another robust month of activity in December with over 2,650,000 square feet of sales and lease transactions.  The firm’s ten Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina offices completed 136 lease transactions totaling 1,551,109 square feet with a transactional value of over $63 million during the month of December. 
     Industrial building transactions of 1,012,824 square feet accounted for the largest amount of space leased.  Retail and office leases totaled 399,818 and 138,467 square feet respectively.
     In addition, Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer reported 36 sale transactions in the month of December totaling over 1,101,000 square feet and over $62 million in sales volume.  Total volume in 2013 reached $1.5 billion; a 30% increase over 2012 total volume of $1.15 billion.
