VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA: Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer announces that Karen M. Stiansen, CPM, CCIM, MCR, RPA, FMA, LEED AP has joined the firm as Vice President, Property Services and will oversee Thalhimer’s Hampton Roads Commercial Property Services team.  Ms. Stiansen has over 25 years in the property management and facilities management field and is recognized as a passionate and experienced property management leader. She holds several commercial real estate designations including the Certified Property Manager (CPM), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and LEED AP EB&OM designations.  She is also very active with BOMI and holds both the Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designations.  
Ms. Stiansen’s experience includes over 10 years of corporate real estate and facilities experience at both Fannie Mae and Apartment Investment and Management Company (AIMCO), at which time she received her Master of Corporate Real Estate designation from Corenet Global.  She is active in the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Buildings Owners and Managers (BOMA), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), as well as Corenet Global.  Most recently, Ms. Stiansen worked for Cushman & Wakefield in Northern Virginia leading a team managing an office portfolio for an institutional owner. She has managed large portfolios to include office, industrial, and retail for The John Akridge Management Company and CBRE.  Curtis M.
